I want to introduce myself ~~Daisy Jabas, and my husband Tony Vincent. We have been the contented Innkeepers of Hummingbird Haven since 2016. We are retired old folks that love meeting people, traveling and having adventures at home or else where. We are world travelers, have been to 30 countries and looking to go to more. We like off the beaten path, unique, unusual places and activities. When we travel we want to experience how life is where we visit, really get the feel and flavor of a place. We want to meet people, learn a bit of a place's history and definitley spend time at local haunts, including neighborhood restaurants.
I am writing this blog for a couple of reasons. Mostly to connect with future and past guests to share travel ideas. From our past guests we want to know if they used and enjoyed or didn't enjoy our suggesstions for things to do in the area. For future guests, I hope to give ideas/ possibilitie for more fun and more ways to get their holidays. It doesn't matter if you they stay at Hummingbird Haven or not! I am also hoping to connect with other Innkeepers, to maybe swap B&B's, and for sure to share ideas on how to improve our lodgings for our guests
Here is a bit about Tony. He has had many careers in his many years. All of them he embraced with his "let's be mellow and enjoy why not ?- attitude." He taught 3-6 year old a Montessori teacher. He wrote songs and traveled as a street musician. His biggest songwriting success was having Johnny Lee record "You Can't Fly Like an Eagle."We got royalities off of it for quite a few years when we were first married. Tony lived at Taylor Camp in Hawaii for 6 years. There he fell in love with "Island Time". For those of you who are thinking about retirement, "Island Tme "is a great preparation for "Retired Time". For his final "real job" before formally retiring, Tony worked as a Computer Programer for the state of Tennessee. Tony handles most of the reservations for Hummigbird Haven.
I was a Critical Care RN for most of my adult life. I loved being a nurse. I worked in a lot of areas of nursing, even doing some travel nursing and some medical missions to Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru and Guatemala. I will share more about me in future posts.
The sun is out, we have a lot of vistors and the outside is calling me. May you have a day filled with many unexpected joys. Love Daisy
